I can feel I'm going to want to disappear on Christmas and the obvious choice in London. But no trains! :(
Any other way of getting there other than driving?

planes do a pretty good job here ;)

or hiking, takes a bit longer though.

or try to put your thumb out and hope people will give you a lift (preferentially rich elderly women) ...

If I were to do that I may as well go a little further south and see if someone would let me stay. I'm a tidy person, sometimes. ;)

further south? I might leave my place over christmas, but I am afraid it is not that far south to give you better weather ;)
