This was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel K2.
Sorry, didn't remember to take down the exposure settings.
The two pictures I have here are before and after cropping. Let me know which one you guys prefer in addition to what you think of the picture overall.

After a second Cropping for a different effect. Does anyone else think I could have shown more of the sky here to emphasize the vertical effect?

I think the first shot is the best. It makes more of the varying roof lines and vertical edges, which I like.
The main thing that is wrong with it is that the central spire and the sky have pretty much the same tonal value so they have a tendency to merge.
A yellow filter would have darkened the blue sky enough to make a seperation - and it would have lifted the clouds out as well.
An orange would have made it even more dramatic.

I'm not realy the person to ask. You could try using Levels...
