As some of you know my Toyota Camry's engine was a loss. My mechanic will buy it from me for 400 or 500 trade in on any vehicle on his lot. Test drove a few that were in my budget and thinking of purchasing the Chrysler 300 M, but has a few things that need to be fixed such as starter, and sway bar. He will check what else needs to be fixed. All repairs will be labor free if I buy the parts. Oh and need 4 new tires. The car has some shake to it and the steering wheel pulls to the left. Forgot to mention it's a 99 model with 150,000 miles on it. He will sell it for 1500. Should I get it or save up for another Toyota Camry 2000 and or Nissan Maxima 2000? Hope you guys can help me out, can't seem to make up my mind.

How much for the Camry and Maxima? Anything need fixing on those?

Just reading your description of the 300 M, I'd keep looking.

Sorry should of clarified. What I meant was buy a Toyota or Nissan elsewhere such as from a personal seller in the classifieds.

I would not buy anything American made from the 90-00's.

What is your budget?

On really? Thanks for the heads up. What are the reasons ? As for budget around 2 - 3 thousand.

I personally would hesitate on German and American cars over 100k on the clock. Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, I would still consider.

Thank you that is what I thought. I am leaning more towards Nissan or Toyota.

What runnah said,especially Crysler, Dodge,Plymouth.

With out a doubt 100K on a well maintained Honda,Toyota,Nissan is nothing as long as the timing belt is replaced when recommended they last for ever.

I agree...keep looking...a 1999 is a 15 year old car...the world is FULL of better, newer cars, for only a little bit more money, like $2,000.

I know you can do a lot better than what your trusted mechanic is offering.........between tires, starter, swaybar + $1500 initial.....I think anyone would give you $500 trade in,if you dragged it in with no tires...

Oh that is so funny!!! Love it. Yes I'm thinking of trading it in at a dealer. The 300 m is kind of old.
