I think it's interesting how many of the Civil War photos of the dead on the battlefield were staged, meaning that the photographers (usually working under the photographer Mathew Brady) would move the dead bodies into more interesting compositions etc...

What sucks about the whole thing is that for all that work, the other photographers' photographs were still produced under Mathew Brady's name making them basically nonexistent in the eyes of the public.
