Cleaning camera mirror

What do you use gear wise and what is a safe procedure......

I have seen special brushes and i have seen simple lint free cloth and some cleaning fluid..

I am very paranoid about going inside my D7000

DO NOT clean the mirror of a new camera like a D7000! DON'T do it!!! The mirror can be blown off with gentle pressure using a blower bulb. It's important to note that the mirror can be rather dusty,and not affect image quality at all. The mirror is sooooooooo delicate that the lightest touches will scratch it. I have 25 year-old cameras--and have never cleaned the mirrors....it's just NOT needed.

thanks...i had a peice of something on my upper right corner, it was visable through the eye piece......got it off ....now its all good...

But the mirror looks dirty when i put a flashlight to it....was just curious....thanks

Answer: Take it to a pro or ignore it being dirty. Don't F with the mirror.

Like anything in life, if you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. If you must? Simply use a little blow bottle with soft brush on end - I have been doing this for 35 years and never damaged a mirror. Just don't put direct pressure on it. If you have smudges or something else, I have use the photosol sensor swabs with lens cleaning solution applied. Works like a charm. Again, if you don't feel comfortable, don't do it - take it in.
