clicking sound on D7000

hi everyone

I have noticed that on my Nikon D7000 when it is switched on, if i move the camera up and down slightly I hear a clicking sound, could this be something to do with the mirror.

Try turning off the lens' VR. If the clicking stops, that's what it was.

I have 7000 also. I recently used the video to film some fish migrating. When I viewed it, it made ALOt of clicking noise as it focused and refocused.
what was I doing wrong? Probably had VR on, was that it?

the microphone on the d7000 is right at the top front.
I know the type of lens that you use can have significant noise issues added onto video in relation to the lens focusing and hunting.
Maybe run a test and listen to your camera on video record and point it at various objects at different distances to see how it reacts and noise.

I tried video on my old 75-300 screw drive once. OMG .. the noise was horrendous like I threw silverware in the garbage disposal. It was hunting so much that nothing was ever in focus. On a much newer/modern AF-D lens it still was noisy but not as bad as that other lens. On my AF-S kit 18-105 of the few video's I've taken there is some noise but not much. Mostly on video the subject is at the same distance all the time when I do use video so I don't have anything to compare.

There is also a sensor that detects if the camera is held in landscape or portrait orientation.

thank you everyone for all of your help.
I think I have solved the problem. I have turned off the Focus Tracking With Lock-On that is in the Autofocus Menu a3.
Seems to be working, their is no clicking any more.
