just tried the noise reduction, it got rid of all of the colored dots but gave me some really bad normal noise. I like the original better

How did you do the noise reduction?

I went and reshot the picture, i'd try the other way but I don't have a proper pp

Using the in-camera noise reduction?

Shoot RAW and download GIMP and UFRaw. They are both free, and UFRaw has a "load dark frame" option. I'm sure that option exists in other software too, but that is the one I have the most experience with.
