So this is a new thing to me, I've never really heard the term before but have recently been watching a few videos on youtube and it was mentioned. Thought I'd look up it a bit and from what I can tell it's altering the hues in an image to be sympathetic to what you are trying to convey.

Mostly it seems to involve using the camera calibration tab to adjust the RGB chanells individually, but also the HSL and exposure.


Does anyone else colour grade?
 
The term colour grading has been around for quite some time IIRC, it originated with motion picture film.

It has been widely adopted by digital still shooters to describe presets or an altering of the HSL from the Raw data to impose a particular style. So yes, I’d say most creative work is “colour graded” to some degree.
