Colourful Sunset (Portrait or Landscape?)

I'm an amateur photography and right now I'm very indecisive between these two photographs. Which print layout do you feel is best suited for this photo?

Portrait

or Landscape

The photos aren't very sharp at the moment. I had to reduce them in size to make the file size reasonable. Feedback would be very helpful!

i think they're both very sharp. what do you feel isn't sharp? the sillohettes are sharp as a tack.

i think they're both interesting enough photos. i'd probably adjust the levels so that the stuff on the ground (everything that isn't the sky) is much darker shadow so you see no detail. this will do 2 things, remove any distracting detail from the ground objects and make the sky colors that much more intense.

if i had to pick only 1 of them, i'd choose the first one, only because there are only a few interesting objects to sillouhette, rather then lots of trees, but both are nice.

I would have to agree. I prefer the portrait.

+1. The vertical or portrait style shot has more emotional impact.
