Hi,

I have an Arri 650 Plus (tungsten 3200K I believe) fresnel light and would like to acquire an additional light to give me more flexibility (one light source often being less than ideal). Do I have to look for another tungsten 3200K light or is it okay to mix lights of differing colour temperatures? Any suggestions as to what would be a good companion to the Arri? I would probably be using the lights when photographing 'objects', either products at work or perhaps things to sell on eBay, that sort of thing, and maybe occasionally to photograph human beings if I can catch them.

Cheers,

Richard.

If using the 2 lights in the same pic, you definitely want the same WB colour coming out of the same lights becuase if you do not, it is HELL to correct. Now, if you want colour casts in the shot on purpose for artistic reasons, the practice is quite acceptable.

In your case, I would find a 2nd light of the same make/brand/model.
