Concert photographers? post networking tips

currently i shoot a lot of concerts. mostly for friends bands, but i also write concert reviews for my college newspaper so i've shot some better known acts as well.

i'm trying to get into shooting more promotional photos for bands. at the moment ive only shot for a couple of friends.

so, when you're at a concert, do you network there to get clients? i was thinking about just going to a bunch of local shows to photograph, then appraoching the band after the show, tell them i took some photos, and hand them my card.

any tips on this? i'm really trying to break into the music industry, so any help at all is appreciated.
