copywriting photos? Is this nessecary?

The reality of photo theft on the Internet is that a lot of beginners are blasting copyright notices on images that are so bad that absolutely no one would consider them worth the effort of stealing at all.

Many enthusiasts and pros are not out to prove anything on forums so they carefully decide what they will post and have no reason to post their best, most saleable work and make it subject to theft. Instead they post the casual work or experiments.

I just read a recent magazine article about this exact subject and the watermark option was discussed and according to this article, a jpg with a watermark gets converted to a tiff and then back to jpg, and the watermark is gone. That's how the pros are stealing images.
No, it is simply not possible. Once you save a compressed jpeg file there is no way anyone can take it back to one of it's previous states.
