I've had my Tamron 2 months and finally got some good light. I was having lunch by the ocean when these gulls came by. So I grabbed my camera and got a few shots. The 1st shot was from around 16ft away. The second two picture were from 6ft away. The 2 other times I've used the 150-600mm was late in the day with overcast sky and the result were not that good.

Nice set. My fav is number one, love the blue background.

Nice shots! I don't doubt the lens requires fair to good lighting to perform well,I know my sigma 150-500 does and especially stopped down around f/8 in good light it performs wonderful. I get more of my moneys worth from the sigma then my L Glass, especially when the sig is on the body 99.9 percent of the time. It's all about the reach for me with some trade off of optical quality.

BTW I really like#2 the backlight colors and the feather detail is pretty sweet,I think.

Great shots, I love the detail in the feathers of the second one but my favourite is the third. thata red ring drawing you into the eye is stunning

This is something I have been wondering about. What led you to buy the Tamron when you have the 200-400 and the 500?
