Cracks and shadows

The tree's shadow, looming over the end of this crumbling building, seemed to me to have evil in mind! I could imagine it saying, "I'm going to finish you off!"

How do you do it?
I walk the countryside, find things that I find worth a photo, take that photo and NEVER get anywhere close to what you manage to create!? Your feeling for composition is breathtakingly good!

Thanks for the kind comments Corinna & Ab$olut. This odd, quite spooky shadow caught my eye at the end of a walk today, just as I was about to put the camera away. It reminded me of some kind of creature with waving tentacles , and I thought it was worth a shot.
