I think if you want to pull off the premise that you had just got something on the line you should show something coming out of the milk maybe. as it, it just looks like you had thrown the line in and are waiting for a bit. maybe a cheerio half out of the water on the end of the line.

Thanks for the comments! I'll see what I can do about that object in the background. And the line is like that because I just caught something, so I'm about to start reeling it in kinda thing - at least thats what I was going for. I can try a limp string too.

I like it, but it already looks limp because it's bowed between the rod's eyes and from the tip to the bobber. I gave artistic license and attributed that to it just being slack and caught in a slight breeze to cause it to be that shape. If something was tugging on it, even slightly, every section of line would be straight from point to point. The pole itself doesn't look tapered like a real pole either. I'd work on that, probably replacing it with a real fishing pole composited in.

On the guitar composition, I get the sense that the plane of focus is on the bridge, rather than the point where you're supposedly standing. It's not terribly obvious, just a general observation that crossed my mind as I looked at it.

Enjoyed seeing both compositions though. There's some really nice detail work going on in them. Really like the addition of the climbing sticks on the orange. That's a really nice touch.

All in all, I think it's very good work.

Edit: Your updated fishing comp posted while I was composing. That looks much better to me.

After dimming down the background artifact in the second one, I can't help but see a moldy piece of pizza. Anyway, these are really awesome!

Thoughts on cropping? A or B?

The second one draws me in more on the key he's sitting on, as well as himself, while the first one makes me focus on the black keys more. So, all in all, I prefer the cropping on B.
