criticism

yo... new to the forum... clearly.. I have been taking pictures for a long time now perhaps about 4 years starting with a disposible camera, highlighting specific moments with personal and non-personal relationships.. without boring everyone and explaining "what my work should be defined as" I would just like a few criticisms and see what people who have no relationship or attachment would say about my photography. I shoot with a CANON AE-1 mainly and the other camera is the yashica auto focus point and shoot (can't remember the year). anyway... it would be cool for some random feedback and to get my work out their and noticed! any form of criticism is encouraged.. Post a few images to this thread. Most people won't click on a link and won't care to comment on tons of images.

Post a few of what you think are your best...tell us why you think they are good, tell us what you could have done better, and we will give you our feedback.

Not really sure how it would be CLEAR that you've been shooting for 4 yrs but ummm ok...

Lol terribly sorry my reading skills ARE quite questionable after a cocktail.
And these photos make me feel as tho I've had one to many! I'm intrigued as to what your thought process was on these. They are very unique.

Interesting pics, but a little busy for me because they're making me dizzy. I want to look at each element longer but I find myself needing to look away after a second.
They definitely have a hipster vibe. Don't take that as an insult, it's just my observation.

Defining yourself as four years being a long time starting with a disposable, if that was what you used for the first three years and moved to film and a point and shoot, it isn't a long time. While you clearly show an artistic side to what you are doing, the overall content is a little weak, I think you could have created much better images with a different crop on the first two, I like the first one as it has more of a flow to it. The last two just look like you put a couple of negs together without really lining things up. As it is the kind of thing I used to play around with in the darkroom 30 years ago I can appreciate the efforts.

yeah, i started using a disposable but it really made me want to just use film instead right away... so it was only for a few months when I first started.. none of the work that I appreciate for myself is using a disposable.. truesay about the content, I felt that way myself in that it could have been more dynamic but I liked the idea of 2 different local music ventures to capture local identity. as for the 2 separate negatives, it is only 1 negative double exposed, these pictures were meshed together by pure memory of what was taken on what sequence... mainly luck i'd have to say.... but I truly appreciate the criticism! thanks and ill be posting different styles soon!
