I like to try and get the important things near the thirds and remove as much space as possible.
The rather pallid colors here suggest that a BW conversion might give it some more impact

Here's my take on it. went a different way.

Cropped 8x10 format horiz vs vert

got rid of all those power lines, poles, and pesky people.
