CS2 Problem....Help

After applying several post processing enhancements/steps to a shot, some of the steps in the history dialog pallet disappear.

Why and how can I prevent it from happening?

Default setting is twenty. You can change it under edit-preferences-performance. Adding more than twenty history states comes at the expense of performance.
