This was taken yesterday as I made my voyage back to the beautiful state of Tennessee, and I am officially a veteran now! It's strange being so young and having "USN, Retired" next to my name on my id card.

I like it, but I am not sure if the post-processing is too much or not. I wanted it to almost have a "painted" effect, but I would like to know if I went overboard with it.

Taken with a Canon Rebel T3 and my nifty fifty (50 mm), 400 iso, f/5.6, shutter speed 1/60.

C/C please! And I don't mind harsh critique!

This is a very cool scene, but I can definitely see the saturation boost, especially in the rocks and water. This would have been cool as a long exposure. Do you have the RAW image?

I do! Would you like me to post it?

If you'd like. Also if you don't mind, I want to tackle an edit on it?

You definitely have the eye for the whats in your image, now just getting all the details together, will make it even better. It is definitely a start though!

Oh shoot. I don't know how to upload a RAW file. How about the original JPEG?

Yeah that works, just convert it in PS to jpeg

I had to resize it down quite a bit.

I like the shot as it is. I'm one of those who likes my water as you have it, not via a long exposure.

For my taste, it's just a LITTLE oversaturated, not bad, but a little over the top. It also may be just a tiny bit on the warm side. Dial down the saturation and the temp just a tiny bit and see what you get.

The other thing that bothers me about it is that piece of tree in the foreground on the top left of the photo. I realize you can't really avoid it leaning into the photo, but that doesn't keep it from being a distraction.

Thank you for your service.
And I agree that Tennessee is a beautiful place; but I may be a bit biased.

I echo most of the above that it is a bit over-saturated. Upping the contrast a bit will increase the pop of an image without that over-saturated look.

Welcome home.

I like it. Your version is quite "painterly", and it has pretty good balance. I like the color just as you have it. There might be a way to make it even more painterly. There are softwares available that will turn your photograph into something that looks more like a painting.

For me, I think it needs straightening. Turn it 1.7 degrees clockwise so the water will run downhill. And as far as the water is concerned; I don't like overly-smoothed water. I like the water just as you have it.
