Hi,

First time I tried to take some shot with my on board flash Nikon d5000.
going through our popular thread about light and flash ,
I thought why not try some shot with my flash , I wanted to know what difference will it make if I would have captured these shots useing external flash as on open ground I had no surface to bounce,Thought I used 1/8 stop manual flash setting.
and do these pics looks flat ?

I think given the conditions these turned out well. You would not have gained a lot in these circumstances using an on-camera speedlight except for a little more power, and since you've dialed it down anyway, not a big difference. They do look slightly flat, but there's not much you do about that, shooting with a single-on camera light source.
