Once again my camera and I struggle with DOF but, I had fun playing around with them! One day I will get a good camera.... but until then here goes!

Love the texture - especially in the second photo.

Your first one really stands out. The yellow on black makes for a good contrast. It also helps to fade and blend out the flower at the edges.

The fade is the part that actually bothers me. It looks like you used on-camera flash. The parts that are close are overlit and the parts that are further back are underlit. It also tends to be a flat light with no defining shadows. I think they are pretty shots, but that they could be improved by moving the light source off-camera and to the side more.

Ya, I have to work on a off camera source of light! I really lack in fancy camera equipment and usually try for more depth in macro's by covering part of the flash with my finger to get diffrent effects!

Here's one I was playing with last night I'm not sure if I like the effect though?

Good work! The texture of the second flower is really pleasing. Fancy camera equipment may be overrated. I am an advocate of bouncing light off of foamcore.
