Dead Forest

My boyfriend and I just both got cameras. He took me out to the boonies by the river last week and we went on a landscape shoot! This was my favorite of all of them. I messed around the the contrast and darkened it a little on Photoshop, no other enhancing. Comments and criticism are welcome

I like the perspective, but I think you've over-done the "darkening", which, in conjunction with the blown sky detracts from the overall quality of the image. This would be worth trying to reshoot on a day with a better sky, especially earlier in the morning (Search "golden hour" or "golden light").

ok! i'll definetly lighten it. yeah, it was a gloomy day and i'll be going back in the summer.. i'll keepin mind to go in the morning. thanks for the suggestion!

Great 1st effort. The higher contrast works with the foreground leaves, but not the darkening of them. At the same time it really hurts the rest of the photograph as you loose so much detail in the trees. Also the "blown out" sky detracts from your composition. If you cropped it just above the top of the middle tree, you'll see a major improvement.

Agree with the good composition but the higher contrast hind the detail of picture.
