Debating if i should take this course

What you think Ann . It has everything i need to learn. The basics ,I'am hoping for the best

That is a huge amount of information to be covered and for the price it seems the opportunity is there to learn a lot.

My biggest concern then is the on line business, a lot of the beginning information needed is so "hands on", hope they give you lots of chances to ask questions .

The push for starting a business after the class is a bit much , but that of course is my personal opinion. Not to say this is your intent but .........too many people will little experience is a huge problem these days.

Good luck and have fun, and remember "don't be afraid to fail" as that is how we learn. Practice with your camera every day, just a few minutes is better than nothing. The more you handle the camera the more confident you will be come

I'm not sure where in FL you are, but I'm attending these Tampa classes at night for certification. They are cheap and they have been wonderful.

i'am in Jacksonville. the classes i'am taking are through university of north Florida. i'll check yours out see if we have them here

i sure hope so . i start tomorrow we shall see how it goes .in the future i do want to make a career out of it but i know i need lots to learn before i could do that.i also got with a local photographer in my area and he's gonna help me and has offer me his studio to practice and assit him when needed. i 'am looking forward to learning allot being around a pro photographer that's established

It all depends on the teacher. It could be a good course if the teacher is good. Do you know anyone that has taken it? You could also check ratemyprofessors.com see if they have a review.

I'm not a big fan of learning photography online, it's more of a visual out in the world hobby. You can learn from books, making mistakes, and playing aorund with your camera quicker if you're not sitting at a computer.

I agree with you but I need to learn the essentials. I learn faster by doing it . But the truth to the matter there's is so much technical terms and other stuff that I admit I am clueless . Plus it is gonna be hands on I have to do assignments every week and turn them in . Meaning I have to take pictures . I have been practicing and I actually posted some pics but haven't gotten to much c&c here . All I got was that my exposure is off . How do I fix it not sure ..lol. But I do think out of all the pics those were the best I've done because I know what to look for , well at least I know more than what I knew when I started .. It's all about learning

. And I do appreciate any c&c

Also, look into a full A.S degree. Why you ask? In the long run you will get more bang for your buck. Since you are going to use some sort of PP (post-processing) software, you can include visual art courses in your photography degree. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks, I am very excited to learn all about photography plus it very addicting . My husband is starting to look at me like I am crazy cause I have that camera attached to my hip . Everything we do or we go I have the camera .lol

Take a painting class too. Its fun and will help you learn more then just how to paint on canvas.

Funny you say that. My tattoo artist went to college for photography , she does photography but just for her family . Her main career is tattooing and she's really good at it but she also paints . I was gonna ask her that . How did she go from photography to painting and know tattooing .. I guess it's kinda all tied in . It's all about visual arts . Pretty interesting . I will look into that but I am horrible at drawing but I could refurbish furniture and make it look new.. Lol and I could decorate and paint a house . That's my other passion

Its not drawing. Its painting. Not the same things.

But art is art. I have had lots of hobbies. I use to paint and draw and write. I was in the symphony in college. I used to dj after that at night clubs and on the radio and stuff. Now I do photography. Somewhere in there I got a degree in finance too. Did I mention I cook too?

It all works together. You could take pictures of the furniture you refurbish. Interior photography is a lucrative market if you can get into it too. but the designing would help. Painting would help the designing too. You'll learn more about color and texture.
