Difficult photo for me - what are your thoughts?

I rarely touch curves...I know, everyone thinks curves is the fix all of all fix alls, but in reality, you can do so much more tonally and in color saturation using a levels adjustment as I did in this edit. I have eaten many times in this area of Savannah, though I am very much a fan of the Olympia Cafe which is a bit down the way toward the trolley. I did do some color adjusting on the old stone pavers in the roadway (which is a bugger to drive on and not so much fun to walk on either.)

After studying the lighting in this image, I almost think you (or your camera) used a Fluorescent setting on your camera to compensate for the lights under the walkway to the left. This would explain several notable color shifts I found in the trees and in the headlights of the trolley.
