But anyway... community colleges offer 2 yr. associate degrees and many now offer a 1 year program - the certificate just verifies that you took the coursework. The cost is nowhere near this amount.

I'm not sure if you're a Washington resident or not and I'm not sure if you have already completed an associates. But I have heard great things about the Green River College up in Auburn. They offer a very nice photography program, digital or film and offer room and board on campus as well. Also I'm pretty sure UW offers a "photography certificate" with similar perks at the end of the course to showcase your work. Maybe worth it to try out the state colleges, you might save a butt load of money.

I'm currently taking a distance learning community college program in Small Business Entrepreneur, my first course when complete will give me my own business plan that I created specifically for my business, it cost me $500.
