I'd appreciate some CC on this. :) Anything is welcome! Feedback on composition and processing would be particularly helpful, though.

It's not a bug or a flower. I was tempted to post a few, though.

Hmmm... I'm of two minds on this one. Initially I thought it was just a rather poorly executed, under-exposed monochrome, but looking at it a little more, it has sort of a dark, moodiness, a la 'Blaire Witch'. I'm not really seeing any compositional points I would change, and for processing, if possible, maybe just lighten things up (if possible) so that there's less pure black.

I'm also of two minds about this one... but my second mind says its a beautiful image, so I'll shut my first mind up and just appreciate it for what it is... The fact that there is no sense of scale plays tricks with your mind.... i really like it... my eye doesn't know where to go... very interesting...

I have one mind, and it instantly fell in  with this.

I love deep, featureless, blacks, though.

Thank you all!

Tirediron, do you know exactly why it appeared poorly executed at first glance? Was it just all the black? I probably did go overboard on it, pretty much on purpose because I wanted to change it from the original so much in the processing. I'll have to look at it again in a few days and see if I agree. : )

Propsguy... you've gotten me curious! What does your "first mind" say?

Bitter, I also like "featureless blacks"! Probably why I did so much burning on this image and ended up with all the dark spots. :)

Mysterious! Don't lighten it up, it will ruin the mystery. This is a cool image, even though it probably breaks a few 'rules'.

Propsguy... you've gotten me curious! What does your "first mind" say?

My first mind is littered with technical garbage that has nothing to do with art... your image is art, and should be appreciated as such.... I've done a lot of technical photography over the years, and I've spent a fair amount of time honing techniques that allow me to capture detail and color accuracy and all that jazz... my "first mind" is tainted by my own efforts to produce images that I've been paid to produce, and I'm in the process of letting that go...
