Do you use a polarizing filter for shooting outdoors?

I never pay attention to the "retail" price, just the price I will have to pay. If it's "on sale" everywhere all the time then it's not really on sale, it's just been permanently reduced. I ended up ordering a Tiffen brand from B&H. It came with a 10 year warranty and it's the same one that I have for the 18-105 (I've had no issues with that one). Thanks all for the input and advice.

Outdoors there are times you can't effectively use a polarizing filter.

For the filter to give an even effect on the sky, the sun has to be close to 90° to the lens long axis, and can't be more than about 30° above the horizon.
If your shot has little or no sky in the frame then a CPL can still be used to get a bit more saturation of blues and greens and/or to minimize reflections on glass or water.
