What's new

Donating some extra stuff I don't need (umbrellas, lightstand)

I would like to be considered in this donation. I am new to photography and have spent to much as it is for something that I have just recently became interested in lol. I have spent most of my disposable savings on my d60, 35mm, 50mm, 70-210(all within a month). Everything I buy is second hand because this is a very expensive hobby. Getting to the reason why I want to be considered is that I found 3 light stands on ebay for really cheap and one came with an umbrella mount on it. I only bought them because they were super cheap and I have an ebay problem lol. Anyway I would like to experiment with an umbrella instead of only my flash.

Thanks for being a good person and doing this.

So you already have 3 lightstands and one umbrella? Do you have a flash? You didn't list that..

I have 3 light stands, 2 fm radio triggers, 1 external flash, and 0 umbrellas lol

Ok.. in the running for an umbrella at least... lol!

Hello, I am interested in the the umbrella and light-stand for outdoor modeling photo shoots and interview photo shoots. It will help out with my photography business.

As I stated earlier, this is not in any way professional gear, and I would not recommend using it for such. A professional should just buy better gear! This is for donation to non-businesses... to noobs looking to learn, that already have a flash (I don't believe you even have a flash for your "business" yet, do you?

I know you were looking for a D3100... or a Nikon P510.. do you even have a camera yet?) I also thought you were going to college... and now you are back to starting a business again?. Sorry... no businesses, I should have stated that at the beginning.....

looks like your gonna have your hands full with this one Charlie! :lmao:

It is interesting seeing a bunch of people that I have never seen posting on the threads trying to get free stuff! I look at the join date and realize that even they have been here longer than me despite never seeing them post.

Sort of like a stocking cheetah...waiting for the next Stache or Charlie to display himself in the open prairie. Run Charlie! Run Stache! RUN!

It might help... but you would have to be very careful about reflections.

Nice Civic! I have a CR-Z I have done a few things too... Takeda intake, Tanabe exhaust, MB Wheels, Nitto Invo Rubber, and a few other things. Was going to SC it, but decided not to... maybe later... lol!

Nice. You should S/C your CR-Z. You'll have power plus mpg's to boot!

That FA1 isn't mine. My friend asked me to do a photoshoot of his car to try to make it into their 2013 calendar. Unfortunately it didn't make it. Other entries with distracting backgrounds (other cars, garbage cans, etc) made it...

This is my ride =)

hehehe, I post when I think my post will be relevant, or when I think I can help someone out with some info. I'm still waiting for spring to roll around so that I can start posting more macro pictures ;)

And hopefully, photograph people more and more. I have some requests by friends, and if they okay their pics to be shown, I'll post those up too in addition to macro pics (since I know I'm going to need some CC on my people pics, lol).

You have to keep in mind though, the things that are generally donated here are not pro grade equipment. I've donated some pretty nice older lenses, FD and M42 mounts, but for the most part it isnt stuff that pros, or even serious photography enthusiasts don't already have a better/newer version of. Most of the people that have been here a while already have better gear than we are giving away, so that really only leaves the newbies. every so often I dig up a nice older lens that garners some interest with the veterans, but not often.

forum activity carries a lot of weight with us when we donate stuff. but so does current gear and what their intended us is as well.

#2 is a winner.

I would like it. I am 18 senior in high school and I am looking to go to college with a major in photojournalism I have been using the lamp from my parents bathroom when I want to take a picture of a camera or like a apple I have a Nikon D5100 and you can look at my website in my sig thank you so much

If I may, I would also like to add my name to the hat. My gear is in my signature. I have no other light gear except for my flash and a reflector. I'm just now getting started on learning lighting, I wanted to focus on my camera a bit before I dove into a new area of photography. I shoot as a hobby, no business here, my kids are my main subject. I took their school pictures this year with nothing other than my flash, reflector, and natural ambient light and they turned out much better than the school photographers photos.

Thank you very much for doing this, I applaud your generosity!

I would like to point out that runnah's avatar STILL has a classy 'stache.... just sayin.
