Hi everyone,

I KNOW I'm double dipping and I apologize (I have posted these images once before). I'm finally trying to figure out how to imbed the images within this post from photobucket (last time I posted these as attachments, kind of a pain). Anyway, if you want to critique, great! If not, I get it! And don't worry..I WON'T post them a third time...they'd have to be pretty stellar to warrant that kind of obnoxiousness!

pretty cool subjects but it seems everyone is compositionally off.

I really enjoyed looking at these photos. #3 and #6 are my least fav. (love that light fixture but something about the composition is off, and the last one doesn't do much for me) #4 probably would have been better if you got the whole archway instead of cutting it off at the right. Pretty cool photos though. Thanks for sharing =)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. And I'll definitely take a look at the composition stuff. Funny, I thought that was the one thing I had going for me, but I guess I have WAY more to learn (tail between legs)!! :blushing:

No tail between the legs!! Keep shooting!!!

Most people don't click on links so don't feel bad, this is the first time I'm seeing your photos.

My thoughts:

#1) This is my favorite of the bunch. Great composition and exposure. What is that? Smoke from a car? I can tell that the sun is out, but this b&w image has a cold, mysterious look to it. Great job!

#2) I also like the composition in this one, the railing and the shadow give it some leading lines. This is an interesting one.

#3) If the subject of this one is the light, than I think it should be cropped, a lot. Nothing in the background does anything else for this picture.

#4) I like the composition of this one, the way the branches follow the same curve as the arch is interesting. I agree that the whole arch should be in the frame though.

#5) I wish you took a lower angle when you shot this one. You could have gotten a bit more sky, and made the space between the three clotheslines (or flags?) bigger. (I just noticed there was a third one). It would also look better because they wouldn't all be dead center in the frame.

#6) The overexposed clouds are just too blinding in this one.

Keep shooting =)

Thanks so much Rebekah. This is very helpful. Nice to hear that maybe I didn't blow every composition! On #1, the smoke was steam coming out of some kind of venting system near the wall. I thought it was interesting. And yes, it was a COLD day, despite the sun. Also, I have posted below two other flag shots I took....initially I didn't like them as much as the one I chose to post (#5), but maybe these are better compositionally in your opinion? I have not done any edits whatsoever.....again, thanks for the feedback.

Actually out of all three I do like the original one you chose to post best. In the other two you posted I don't like the angle as much because now the building is taking up too much space, and it seems like there's less in focus in these. The landscape also stands out more in the first one you posted. Your judgement on which one to post was right IMO. =)

What????? No one is gonna say it? Well, it must be done.....................................
