dye sub printer

I'm shopping around for a dye sub printer. Currently I am looking at Kodak 8500. I know the Kodak 1400 is coming out.. or just came out. I tried searching in here to see if much people talk about these type of printers. any feedback or suggestion would be great. I used to use the Sony UP-DR100 which I like alot. But it only prints up to 5x7 prints.
