Engagement shoot! C&C appreciated

My buddy recently got engaged and ask me to do some pics for them. He loves Cleveland sports (mostly the Cavs) and she loves the Indians/baseball in general. Most of the poses were her idea from Pinterest. This is also my first time really using my new D7100. Whactha think?

Not bad, however 1 (and to a lesser degree #2) really suffers from lack of fill. They have serious racoon eyes, and it looks like some noise due to shadow/under-exposure recovery. I wish that the dogs were either both looking at the camera or each other, but with one looking each way it loses a bit.

I think #2 should have either been far enough away to include the whole hand, or close enough to really see the ring in detail.

#3; good, solid shot and #4 will be a nice memory shot.

Thank you! I'll go back and work on the first one.. Only had natural light to work with. The dogs would not cooperate at all. I spent most of the time removing the leash that was all wrapped up on the white dog lol. Can I put the finished image in Lightroom to retouch the eyes or do I have to start over?

Rule #1 - never, ever, EVER go anywhere without extra light in your pocket! If you shot these as raw files and edited in LR, you shouldn't need to start again.

I used to have a nice little hot shoe flash that I could bounce light off of poster board with but it sat for a while and the batteries got corroded. I've just recently starting getting all new equipment and some lighting is next. I'll try to touch it up tonight and see what happens. Thanks again!
