Ok. So I currently have a T1i with 15-55mm kit lens and 55-250mm 4-5.6 Zoom lens. I also have the 430 ex II. I am at a crossroad where I am not sure if I should get a body upgrade (even though I have no clue where to go next. ei baby step to 60D or jump to 7D) or better lenses first. I know a body is only as good as the lens will allow it to be so I may be answering my own question. Part of me thinks my next purchase needs to be a 1.4-1.8 lens as I don't really have anything for low light scenarios.

Thoughts?

If you're concerned with picture quality, and what shots you can actually get, then go for the glass. It'll last you way longer than any body, and if all you've had is a kit lens, you'll be amazed what quality glass can produce. On the other hand, the rebel series has a much different ergonomic approach than canon's higher end bodies. Specifically, the rebels do not have as many dedicated controls, which to me makes them a little cumbersome to shoot full manual. So... usability and control vs. shot options and final image quality. which do you want first?

(personally I'd go for the glass... unless you're shooting a lot of action, the rebel interface only costs you a little time when you set up the shot.)

X2 Go with Glass.. if you upgrade the body later you can take the glass with you.

Get a sweet 2.8 midrange zoom and a nice 1.4 prime...do your research first and you won't be disappointed!

However if you upgrade to a newer body...your shots will still be the same for the most part.

Think I will move towards the glass for now. Thanks!
