Found this guy and his friends working the willows over during my walk this morning. I obviously didn't see the drop on his front leg until I uploaded them, it made for a neat set! I put it in wildlife because I didn't think it qualified as a macro. It is the first bug I've shot with the 100-400 and I'm pretty darn happy with how it did!! Bring on the dragonflies IMHO!!!

Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks for taking a look!

One more drop.

Lick the fingers....

And the lips, mmmm.....

Yes, second one seems to have the best focus. Good job using such a big lens for a close-up shot! You seem to be getting along very well with the new 100-400 IS. Just think how familiar with it you will be by summer's end! Seems like it's been a wise choice to go with the 100-400.

Awesome!! I've been trying to get one of these forever...hehe

Thanks everyone!

Yes, I wish the focus hit on all 3 :( like it did on the second one, I was hand holding so it could have been either one of us lol

Derrel, I'm so glad I took the time and asked for help narrowing things down (thanks again for your help!!) I couldn't be happier :)

Mish, you can doooo eeet!

Thanks Benco :)

Nice, good job. That's one subject that you sure want to have a reach when photographing.

Thanks Ron :)

I'm probably not as afraid of these guys as I should be, last week I had one fly up my pant leg and sting me 6 times before I got it out!

#2 is amazing. Love the composition and colours of the willows.

Ouch, really?!!

Great shots. I must have missed the thread - which lens did you get, the Canon 100-400 IS? I've been thinking about getting that lens for outdoor sports and maybe wildlife.

Hey Timothy, thanks!

Yes OUCH! Luckily I'm not allergic!

Yes Canon 100-400L IS, I just got it about a month ago and I'm in LOVE with this lens! It takes some getting used to the push pull zoom but now that I am it is very comfortable and I think I prefer it to twist zooms.
