Eyes

I have seen alot of photographers photos of people and it seems like the eyes draw you in. How do they make them pop? Is it mostly due to lighting or editing software?

Depends on the look you're going for. For family/formal portraiture, good lighting, light editing. Maybe a bit of localized contrast and sharpening, maybe dodge the catchlights a little.

For glamor/beauty shots there's a little more going on in post most of the time, but that applies to the whole image too.

It's really easy to overdo the eyes and make them look phony - or even creepy. It takes some practice before you figure out how to make it look good and natural I think.
