Thanks for viewing :)

Watermark them if you want to keep your rights for them.

I hate this new trend of people having photos like this for their facebook. Isn't it making the whole social blogging thing a little bit conceited?

For facebook, I think they're fine.

thank you ....but not sure i follow what you mean by this

a-okay i tried grayscale on couple of em but they didnt turn out like ur edit ....what did u do? also i have raw files for these images so any pointers there is well appreciated :)

I have a very simple editing program, Aperture and Nik.

Cropped it to master ratio a little more, adjusted the RGB levels, then converted it to black and white, played with contrast levels.
Then to dodge and burn, lifted the whites in her eyes slightly, slight sharp on her eyes and jewelry.

Lastly, upped the light.

thanks sisco....u just gave me day's worth of reading and a week's worth of tinkering lol i usually only go for contrast and brightness meters

It's all fun. I am fortunate to have great people that have taken time to educate me on the steps. Its wonderful to see how folks grow when they learn more about a particular piece of the puzzle.:D

In the second picture I would eliminate the unuseful top part (like Sisco did in part). Read about Thirds rule, is the first step towards good composition.

the thing is i do know abt the rule of thirds but i was so hellbent on getting the poses, orientations right that i completely forgot about basics this happens a lot to me i get so impulsive if i see something that'll make a good photo and then jus start snapping without giving much thought :grumpy:
hey thanks for your suggestion tho

Too soft of a focus on the face. For someone this exotic looking, an crisp focus on the eyes would be KILLER

As target is Facebook, resolution is not a problem. You can just crop after, to take the area you want. Sisco cut away your picture, giving some better angle, in addition to b/w .

I agree with you, thats why I thought maybe B&W would be more flattering and allow her eyes to be brilliant.
