Not really surprised. The size and quality of pictures I have on FB are a joke...lol I would like to see them really do anything w/ them.

I typically posted the same size and quality images there I would anywhere, this morning I removed all them adding the comment "Photo removed due to changes in changes in Facebook ToS" to every post that had a photo, also removed all of my profile photo & personal information.

They did this before and the community imploded on them - I guess like the government their policy is that if the people don't want it - just keep doing it until they finally get bored of opposing or are distracted by something else. I'll be surprised if Facebook can survive another wave of this - especially considering how key facebook is now in a lot of modern marketing for businesses.

Having read the link if its as bad as they claim then I can see a lot of regular people getting very angry about it too - its not just photos its everything! (its Facebooks' dream as they'll get paid a fortune).

How 'bout we all get together and create an image-hosting site designed for photographers? One that won't be a rights grab?

For image hosting its great, but the don't allow you to commercially advertise there so its useless for all the pros. Furthermore its not a social networking site for the general population and that is the primary reason most photographers are on there - be it amateur or pro they are there because Facebook makes networking so easy between friends, family and clients and beyond.

Hmmm... I suspect that this one will slide through; the facebook community had their big bang, and are spent. As someone who ONLY has a business page and only posts 800pix or less (generally <100kb) images, while I don't like don't like these sorts of TOUs, I don't see a huge downside for me.
