Fall portraits... CC please

Was out enjoying a nice fall weekend with some friends and took the time to take a few photos of them.
Very harsh shadows, I know. I used fill flash on the second one, but attempted to reduce shadows on the second through post processing.

Would love CC on post processing and so on...

I think these are great, I'd really like to see the color shots. Even though the first image really darkens the male subject's eye I like it.

What is your EXIF info for the two? Shooting wide open at 2.8?

Bring out the color! Excellent work!
