I think we need to see some "surroundings" in these images. They're all very tightly cropped and while I understand your "Mother's point of view" concept, I'm not sure that these pass on the message as well as they could. When I look at them, they could just as easily be in the Mother's living room with the blinds pulled down as in a shopping mall.

Have you considered doing a series of triptychs? One from the mother's POV, one from the child's and one showing them both in their surroundings? Just a thought...

It is still a challenge to me, how to present my images. Here, I tend to post the most "technically correct" images. And of course my favorites. I plan to share a lot more images on fb and my blog. (follow hashtags in fb to see other photographers work).

Because I have a bit of an obsessive nature ("Really?" They all gasped in surprise, "You?"), I tend to like projects like this to have a commonality. The way I see this being presented is as a two over one triptych. Upper left in 4x5 portrait is the mother looking at the child, upper right in 4x5 is the child looking at the mother. Below in 4x11 would be a two image pano that shows their surroundings.

I hosted last years but I just weaned my son about a month and a half ago. Since I'm not actually participating this year they asked me to photograph and I couldn't say no!

Yeah, the collages really do add context! I think it makes a more powerful, almost subliminal message; the close-ups lack context, and the pull-back shots make it seem like, "oh, okay, that's the location. Okey-dokey! Everything's cool here." It's subtle, yet it's powerful to literally SEE the context and surroundings.

Ok, I do get that people are stupid, ignorant and whatever , but do I care? No!

It's simple as that for me... I will certainly not argue about stupidities others say. I know what is important and act accordingly.

Like many things, the validity or stupidity is a matter of personal preference and belief, based in large part on what is deemed "appropriate" in the area in which a person lives. Europe is generally far more accepting of such things than is North America, 'though attitudes are changing.

I "Liked" Pix's puppy video, because I am an animal lover too. Then I saw that Paige wasn't thrilled with it. But I can't help that's all I saw, a woman rescuing a puppy. Never even fathomed something perved in it. Sorry, Paige.
