film scanner for under $1000/£600?

any ideas? i don't mind buying used but would prefer new. i was told that minolta make good scanners?

I've been looking at the Pacific Image 3600 pro which runs about $250 US and has gotten a lot of good reviews. Minolta has also gotten a lot of good reviews.

If you’re only scanning 35mm, should be able to get a good model for less than 400 USD
But if you need one for roll film or larger then it will likely be more in the 1000-1500 USD range. I believe Voodoo has a Minolta 35mm model and is happy with it

I have been personally looking at the Microtek 1800tf, it is a multiple format film and flatbed scanner, it’s a little expensive 1130 USD

Umm...so what...do these scanners scan film into the p.c.? and does it look like normal pictures? If so Awesome!
