Filter (how cheap is too cheap)

I need a polarized filter for my 18-55 kit lens. I definitely don't want to buy an overly expensive one for a kit lens since it would be overkill. I was just wondering what price range should I be looking at for a kit lens. Some actual suggestions would help me even further.

Just because I anticipate the comment "if you buy a good filter you won't have to replace it in the future", I'm not planning on replacing my kit lens for a while. When I do, I don't mind getting a new one.
