I found some better models to shoot this weekend. Got to practice at a photo convention where I learned and practiced and listened to Joe McNally as the Key Note Speaker. Great time.

Thanks John. That last one was a tough one to meter with the bright background. The flash is camera right and I was actually shooting for a little more moody look. Is it exactly like I wanted it? No, but I am happy with what I got when I consider what I was trying to do.

It was a worthwhile weekend.

Sounds like a good deal. I've always liked McNally's on-line video presentations. You did a good job of balancing the flash and the visble ambient light in the first shot: the light ficxtures and the lighting from behind where the flash struck are show believably and well-exposed.

No lighting stuff this time. I upgraded this time.

I got a Thinktank Airport International V3.0 to put all my stuff inside. Save my back from carrying an over packed backpack.

And I upgraded my tripod ballhead to the Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ6.

I also got a t-shirt and a small Manfrotto camera bag (retail $30) in give away stuff.

Thanks. I ended up getting the next biggest size than what I had looked at the day before. (because they sold out of the other one) I haven't really gotten to use it yet but I like it better than my old one for sure.

I like a ballhead to be larger rather than smaller. I've had several over the years, and the larger and the more heavy-duty one is, I think the better.

Thinktank bags are the best. I LOVE my Airporter... it's my everyday bag, and gets the stuffing kicked out of it, but still looks almost brand-new!
