lol what the hell, I have both browsers on this computer, IE is actually the primary but I use Firefox and I have never seen anything like that.

Could be tricky seeing as it hasn't succeeded in connecting to the TPF server

Not to my knowledge, Further more I do not believe that doing so would alter the unable to connect error message recieved by the user.

Just had a look and I can't find any way of doing that

There is an extension in Firefox where you can set it to switch between FF/IE. I think it is called IE Tabs. Someone would have had to install it though, so I'd check in your add-ons to see if anyone has been messing with it.

All you have to do to pretend you're another browser is change the useragent variable.
