Fireworks and Exploding Chairs - TPF Germany Meet-Up

Would it be yet another phrase taken out of context and used against me if I said I never went looking for the hotspot, and never found it?

Yeah, the hotspot was great :D

Anyway, just back from the North after two days at the coast following the meet-up. This morning I even had breakfast at the beach with two girls :D

Did they realise you were having breakfast with them? or did they just think you were some guy on the next table? ;)

Well I'm home and have started down loading my cards, will not finish to night, the card reader is slow and i need to go to bed

Good to know that you have arrived home safely, too, Jeff. So it seems like everyone's back home now. Good!

Good to see everyone made it home safely :D

Sorry to hear of your loss in images, Daan :(

Did they realise you were having breakfast with them? or did they just think you were some guy on the next table? ;)

I ate their rolls, drank their tea, sat on their blanket and used their sunscreen. So I suppose they were aware of me in a way :-P

This was actually without tables ... just sitting at the beach :)

You guys have stopped posting images. Who said that was allowed!?

Most of us have to work on mondays ;) Also, all the remaining images are probably NSFW :-P

I will post lots more, but not within the next few hours ...

Just so you see that I'm only just BEGINNING to post some of my pictures, here's a sample taken during the very first day, Saturday 24 May. Day of Arrival.

The corner of "Ole Hoop" (which pronounces differently from what most of you might think) with the - then still new - sign that a TPF meet-up is going to go on inside.

Sabine drew it for me shortly before the first arrived (other than Jeff, who arrived on Friday already), so everyone'd find first my place, later Ole Hoop, more easily.

Things wouldn't have worked out half as well (not counting a couple of organisational flaws such as cold and grey weather in Hamburg, for example), had it not been for my indispensable assistent Heike, who supported me and the group as much as she could.

Sandie in "Scheune Bistro" here in Lauenbrück on our first night together (save Sky who only arrived late that night shortly before the fireworks started).

By the way: good news for Hertz.
The "exploded chair" got replaced easily. I got a new one today. And since it'll only be one of us sitting down on that one and not you, I am convinced, this new one is not going to explode. Until ... you come back to sit down on my garden chairs again, of course. ;)

More later.
Must rush to the pool to get Sabine back home from training now. (Life's very much back to normal, it seems...).

Well, here are some of my shots. Like Corinna, I am going through my pics on a day by day basis. These are from May 24, the day we arrived and most of us moved into Ole Hoop.

Florian and Corinna arrive at Ole Hoop with supplies of food and beverages

Not surprisingly, there was lots of green in evidence at Ole Hoop

After settling in, the group went for a walk through town and ended up at the duck pond. Jeff had a seat while he sized up his next photographic subject

Corinna had a seat and took a break from photos, but her sister Christiane seemingly was never without a camera in hand.

Tony and Sandie were 'benched' for 'fowl play'.

Oh, how nice! You got some photos of me that I like! That doesn't happen too often! But you did it, Jeanne! Cool! :D

In my narration it is already Sunday now, and we all meet at Ole Hoop for breakfast, "we" being "the crowd", Hertz (he is extra!), Heike, and the entire Schleiffer-family. Chris and Anne-Marie have breakfast in their hotel in Buchholz and join us later.

A TPF breakfast, no doubt. More cameras than food on the table :D.

Once they've arrived, also Anne-Marie and Chris seem to have had a good breakfast: they look happy!

Also Anty, while maybe (!) not perfect because she's Canadian, but close enough, enjoys the warm morning sun!

Jeff, however, is already beginning to wonder if the weather will hold... !?!?

After breakfast, we set out for a walk to this_spot where Andreas was instructed to take our "official" group photo (and a couple of unofficial ones, too ;)).

And since everyone had their "horsey moment" when we came past the paddock, I had to undergo my own "horsey moment", too... there was no way round it, really.

2545688912_507e038812_o.jpg

Sandie preferred not to walk but to ride Heike's bike, and I am sure she'll from now on pester Tony with the words "Ton-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Can I have a bike like Heike has, puleeeeaaaase????" ;)

2544864491_83162f8786_o.jpg

So Heike bravely walked, explaining things with hands and feet as they all went along the busy road towards "the spot".

Sabine, the approved snake charmer, holds the dangerous beast in her hands (not to be seen her since her slim swimmer's back is between yours truly and "the beast"), and we can see the "making of" of Alex's perfectly wonderful snake portraits (part 1)

2544866045_93917957c4_o.jpg

And Part 2:

2544866443_a130d64f4c_o.jpg

Neat and orderly as he is, Alex doesn't even skrew up his face when he takes photos, he stays perfectly tidy even around his eyes ... if only I could do that!

And if only I could have taken a brilliantly sharp one of the tiny snake like he did, only is mine shaken and shows a "tongue-less" snake only ...

But the background's a nice colour at least :greenpbl:.

More to come.
