First attempt at posting here for some CC on my people photography. We were just out walking around and I took this one, so it's not like we went out for the purpose of portraits. Anyhow let me know if I'm on the right direction or not! Thanks!
Nice candid shot. The shadows are a bit distracting though. Maybe having her turn to face the sun a bit more would have eliminated some of them. Still pretty new myself, but that's my two cents worth.
Not bad. To avoid the squint I would move under the shade or into partial shade. Use of fill flash might also help.
It's true, having her face turned towards the sun would eliminate the shadows. On the other hand, though, the lighting is extremely harsh, and her squinting into the sunlight might not have been a very good idea, either. I would've turned her entirely away from the sun, and used fill flash to illuminate her face.
