First Baby Portraits Tries

Well my neighbor had a baby and wanted me to take a few pictures of her baby. I think a few turned out pretty well. They like them so I was happy, and I was happy with the result.

I like the color shot of the baby looking at the camera. A little soft, but acceptable.

Yeah... that one is really a stand-out.

I do really want to crop in though... and quite bit. I'd like to see the top cropped down to just above the band of the hat, then crop in from the sides so that the lil feller's face is centered on a 3:2 format. I think you can afford to lop off the top of the hat like this and still be fine. The "mind's eye" knows where those lines go, so it's not so troubling interrupting them. And it would get rid of that bit where the ears attach.

Maybe lighten the eyes just a wee bit (just the iris)... not so much that anyone could tell.

Cute portrait! Nice lighting. I wish I did it.

Very nice, my only thought is that there may be too much dead space.
