First DSLR ~ help please? (:

Hey all!

I'm looking to purchase my first DSLR and have narrowed it down to two different cameras + lenses.
I'm looking to take many different sorts of photos: mostly just whatever I see and want to take a picture of at the moment.
I don't want to spend above $850, so I'd only be interested in cameras + lenses below that price.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you have about these cameras, lenses, etc.

So far, I'm looking at:

The Canon T2i ($630+) && Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens ($112+) OR Canon 55-250mm lens ($195+)

OR

The Nikon D5000 ($???) && Nikkor 18-55mm lens ($100+) OR Nikor 35mm lens ($200+)
The Nikon D5000 and Nikkor 18-55mm lens is selling as a kit at Best Buy for $570



I would only be buying ONE camera and ONE lens, so I want to choose wisely.
ATM, I'm REALLY leaning towards the D5000 and 35mm lens, seeing as it is cheaper than the T2i and 55-250mm lens...
But I'm still unsure as to what I would want.


SOOOO...I would really appreciate your suggestion as to which camera + what lense (feel free to suggest ANYTHING within my price range), if you have the chance!

Go with the Nikon at Best Buy and make sure you take advantage of their 18 months no interest promotion.
