I don't get it...You asked for critiques and 15 semi-pro's (and a few real pros) told you that your coloring is off in the first photo. Then you poll 10 of your friends and they all say they like your photo over Darrel's.

Have your friends ever told you to try out for American Idol? Ok I kid and that was a shot lol sorry. But the point is your friends are wrong. If she likes the green guess what you process for the skin tones and mask off the couple and increase the saturation or vibrance only in the leaves. They look too green. Derrel's edit was way closer to what they should have looked like. You can have the best of both but you shouldn't sacrifice something that important as skin tone to get more vibrance. The other thing is when your processing try not to use saturation. Use vibrance instead it tends not to affect skin tones as much. Love the pose and natural feeling in the shots.

I didn't just ask friends, and they thought I edited both photos so it was unbiased. They picked which picture they liked best... True I could just saturate the background and that is probably what I should have done but what something should look like and what people like can be two different things. Nobody once said the skin looks better in one picture but the green looks better in this other, they all just said they like the more vibrant picture more...

I didn't ask for critiques so I could change to whatever someone told me, I asked because I wanted other opinions to see what changes could be made and determine if I want to make them. I didn't know that was standard to post and do whatever someone on the internet tells you to do because they tell you they're a pro... I knew the saturation was high and I liked it like that, not sure why there is an issue as I am the artist creating the image and although I like critiques it doesn't mean I will conform to please everyone.
