hmmm most of the colors are in the same chroma so it gives a quite dull non contrasty image. I think sticking in colour or upping the contrast will improve this.

So I wasn't too wrong in assuming the first was a black and white conversion!?!?! Relief all over! Phew

I like the colour pic better... makes it easier to distinguish between dry ground an water.

I like the colour version better, think with a bit of PS work you could get the colours to come out. GW.
