Color's a lot better. Are you using a 50mm F1.8? If so your sharpness is going to suffer, but you should stop it up to increase DOF to get the plugs in focus. Sharpness will increase as well.

A tripod and mirror lock-up will help immensely if the shutter times get too slow.

I think it maybe better to use F/5.6 or F/8 with your 50mm lens in this type of photos. (assuming the camera is on the tripod)

So the entire product is in focus.
