First Model shot C&C

hey guys, this is my first shot of a model. it ain't much but i would appreciate C&C thanks

a little more light on the model's face, the wall to get rid of the distracting shadow and getting that bit of cloth from her waist would greatly improve this shot. I like the wall texture and her pose.

The shadow doesn't really bother me. However, I agree, the model needs more light on her face. When I do a portrait, I always make sure that the 'mask' of the face is lit sufficiently.

Although it is diffused, her face is in shadow, her forehead and eyes especially, which is not flattering, at least not in this image. The black specks on the wall are also somewhat distracting though the texture is good; it prevents it from looking like she's standing against blue background paper. I agree about the cloth, either show more of it or crop it out entirely. Also, you have to be careful about photographing models close to deeply colored backgrounds, as their skin tones can pick up color contamination easily, as has happened here. It also took me a minute to figure out what that was on her shoulder.

On the positive, I like how you did not place her dead center in the frame, a very "rookie" mistake, a trap that even more experienced photographers also allow themselves to fall into. You don't want us to edit your images so I will not make any corrections to this on in Photoshop. Some of the points I brought up can be reasonably easily fixed.
